One of the most authentic signs of our relationship with Christ is our ability to proclaim our weaknesses without fear or regret.
Generally, our pride and ego immediately make us refrain from openly boasting about our less than perfect traits. Yet when Christ is in our lives, our fear of judgment and ridicule gets taken over by our faith in the Lord.
If we didn’t have Christ in our lives, then we would be like many who purely put their worth into their flesh and all of the abilities it may possess. On the other hand, we don’t put our faith in ourselves and our gifts or lack thereof; we put our faith in Christ.
So when we humble ourselves before the Lord, we know that there is nothing to fear when it comes to our weaknesses. We know that anything that the Lord wants us to see through, He will make up the difference and more for what we may lack at any given time.
There is strength in proclaiming our weakness. Only when we know our shortcomings can we recognize the Lord fully working in our lives. Then we’re able to witness and see all the great things He has done for us.
2 Corinthians 11:30 If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. (NIV)
