Unarmed

“I am tough, my armor’s up but it’s not working. Be my fence, my safety net, my reinforcing.”

-Kalley

Thoughts

I am happy to say that we have a God that sees right through us. Mad? Well He knows deep down that anger is really just dressed up sadness. Happy? He knows deep down you get apprehensive about smiling because of that one tooth you never fully liked, so instead you always do a closed smile. That is how come He can love so deeply, He knows what the real reason is. He knows our true reasons. There just isn’t any kind of pretending that will work on Him.

Not Working

Our armor won’t work here. There’s no need for it. He doesn’t ask for excuses, empty promises, or ask you to be okay. He just wants the truth, He knows it anyway. He has a plan to help you, not to harm you whenever you get lost. Sometimes we do make promises to God that we don’t keep. He is gracious to give us chances to get it right because we are learning how to be His. He is looking at your heart posture, not at how well you executed something. He isn’t sitting there writing down the reasons you are worthy of loving, of being approved. Lastly, He wont ask you to be happy all the time because we tend to think that’s the only good emotion . I am not sure who told us that. He wants your whole life because He is the only one that can make a masterpiece of it. That includes the sadness, the anger, the joy, the thoughts, the mistakes, the victories. Bring your sadness with you into His presence, He’ll make something wonderful out of it. Offer your armor, He’ll give you peace, the kind that you trying to get by having control. Control does not equal peace, but His love loving you back into wholeness, does. It’s worth it, I promise you.

Verses

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” -Isaiah 41:10

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33

“Now you’ve got my feet on the life path, all radiant from the shining of your face. Ever since you took my hand, I’m on the right way.” -Psalm 16:11

Unarmed and letting the war inside of us lose itself to Him. We will get more than what we bargained for, His love will take these ruins and make them His home.
