Your Thoughts Create Your Reality!

There’s NO power in complaining about how miserable one’s life is or playing the victim. You’re just one choice and step from changing your life — Making the DECISION to turn from wrong path your on towards the direction and journey that God wants you to go on!

Is the journey easy? Heck NO! There’s power in being able to make choices — the RIGHT choices. It’s easier to complain, but it takes courage to step out of the your comfort zone and the status quo to do what God’s called you to do! Have faith and trust God; take a chance on yourself — YOU are worth it!

If you see yourself as victim, then you are; if you see yourself as a failure, then you will be a failure! if you see yourself as a depressed person; you will be depressed! I’ve experienced them all, because my thoughts about myself and my situations caused me to become a negative person. I still battle with these issues from time to time.

Did you know that the same is true if you turn your negative thinking around and see yourself in a positive light, as God sees you instead? If you think you’re a success, you will become successful? If you see yourself as victorious, you will be. If you see yourself as smart or a creative thinker, you will become that! Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he, NKJV).

The negative and harsh things you say to yourself you would never tell your child or anyone else you love. So why do you say them to yourself? Give yourself the same love, kindness, encouragement, and compassion you would to a little child, if you overheard them speaking down about herself.

Say it out loud 10 times while looking in the mirror: I am fearfully and wonderfully made, I am victorious, I am more than a conqueror! I am an overcomer! I am who God says that I am! “I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

Now, doesn’t that feel better than speaking negative things over yourself? Keep in mind what Proverbs 23:7 says. Your experiences in life, relationships, ministry, business, etc will be root and grounded in your own belief system or the thought patterns YOU believe about yourself !

Repetition is key to learning anything  mastering new skills and reinforcing good habits. By the way, bad habits are formed the exact same way — by repetition. You have to decide which things you want to reinforce in your life. God expects you to be a good steward over everything that He’s entrusted to you including the life He’s blessed you with!

So, watch your thoughts and watch the words that you speak over yourself and about others as well! There is power in the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21 says, Death and life is in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit). You determine the type of fruit you produce!

Proverbs 6:2, NKJV says, “You are snared by the words of your mouth, You are taken by the words of your mouth.” A snare is a trap! You can trap yourself by your thoughts and eventually you will be speaking words that are contrary to what God’s has said about you and your circumstances. The examples of negativity cited earlier leaves you trapped in those thoughts and situations because you keep thinking them, saying them, are eventually acting on them!

    1. This article is in no way focusing on “Positive Thinking” at all. It’s encouraging believers to focus on the renewing our minds with God’s Word, which will bring transformation and “positive” change that glorifies God! The concept of “Positive Thinking” has and will never be encouraged over God’s Word.
