Thoughts About Discovering Him-
The love I’ll tell you about today is an everyday kind of love. I wake up, and I am in it. I go into the darkness of my room at night to get into bed, and I am in it. I can only tell you about the love that has taken me over. The same love that I have learned to be glad I let it. I couldn’t get away from it even if I tried anyway. I was made to be loved by it, and it’s the very thing keeping me alive… the love of Jesus, like a dream, a shoulder, a companion in pain, a planter of tears, a gardener of joy. Here is love. Let it wash you over. It’s your story too.
I don’t think I have ever loved someone this much. Not because I know how to love well at all but rather because He knows how to love me well. My heart responds to that. It’s almost as though God made me just to have me. Like He was really excited one day and put that excitement into me. That very same day He thought to create me and my laughter with a smile on His face. I was a dream of His that He brought forth into being. This is my greatest love story, where my tears and my laughter collect together and make a tapestry that He hangs on the walls of His heart. Simple love that isn’t complicated but reaches my deepest complexities. How can I explain it when it feels like even the most beautiful colors or the most wordy words just don’t encompass it all? Here is me trying.
My hope is that the fire of His presence will light everything up for you with the brightest light so that you can see things clearly. I hope you feel the warmth of His fire like the best hug your heart has ever gotten. For your mind to realize how close He has been in every breath you have ever taken. His fire burns for you and nothing can put it out. It will out last every thing you’ve ever known and even then, keep on shining for you. Keep warm for you. Keep lighting the way for you.
Jesus the Christ, ever before us, ever within us, ever beside us. May we be found in His love, forever more. May you keep discovering Him and have your realizations that He is who He says He is, just like Simon Peter did. “Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” -Matthew 16:16
