The Jesus Within

Thoughts

There are so many words out there that people are saying all the time. Many wonderful songs, poems, books, and movies made by other people. Jesus has been teaching me that He wants me to give Him my own works, not the works of somebody else. Please hear me; I am not saying that what others have said or made or created isn’t important. What I am saying is that there is no better offering to Jesus than you and what you carry. He is not interested in copycats. He is interested in disciples, friends, and family. You carry a piece of Jesus that I will not see in anybody else because all of your moments have led you to know Him in a way that I haven’t yet, since I haven’t lived your life. I’ve lived my own. God needs you to be you (the you that God intended you to be) because He planned on it. The Jesus within you alive, another story wouldn’t do. Paint your paintings, sing your songs, dance your dances, film those videos, craft your crafts so we can see Him in ways we haven’t yet. After we know Him in those ways, let those things remind us of what our hearts can forget so easily often times. He is within, He is without, He is here, and He is alive with me, with us.

“I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree.” (Jeremiah 29).

Prayer

“Now I love the mornings, the beginnings and endings of everyday. Now I don’t feel so lonely, in my every moment. I’m here to stay because I’m with you. We’ve found the secret and the secret is laughter, that’s how we make all the bad days better. I can face the world this way. My heart has found a resting place and I can face the world this way.” (Amanda Cook)
