The Lord Has Mercy For His People
The perfect example of love is found in the Lord Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on Calvery. We’re sinners and deserve the punishment that was inflicted on our Lord. Yet, because He loves us so much, He was willing to endure the pain that was meant to be ours.
So often, we can forget just how much the Lord loves us because our sin and weaknesses of the flesh can get in the way of the wisdom that the Lord has bestowed upon us. Sin is a horrible and deceptive cancer to our faith.
In our worst moments in life, even when we’ve been less than humble and fearful of an all-powerful God, if we come to Him with a repentant heart, He listens to our pleas.
Throughout life, every single one of us has faltered and has to deal with the fact that we’ve disappointed and even hurt the Lord by our actions. When we come to Him with a sincere heart and know we don’t deserve His love and mercy, He still loves us.
Great is our Lord that if we are genuinely humble and recognize our failings, He’s always prepared to listen and help us heal our self-inflicted wounds. The Lord has mercy for His people and will never turn them away when they repent of wrongdoing.
The Lord died for us on a cross over two-thousand years ago. He has shown us how much He loves us and that He understands our frailties of the flesh. May we never forget the power of repentance and the forgiving nature of the Lord our God.
Judges 10:15 But the Israelites said to the Lord, “We have sinned. Do with us whatever you think best, but please rescue us now.” (NIV)
