Broken Vessels Still Carry

Broken Vessels Still Carry - Devotional Blog

There’s an old story about a water carrier in a small village.🚰

Each day, he would carry two pots of water from the river to his master’s house. One pot was flawless, polished, whole, and dependable. The other had a crack in it, and each day it leaked water along the path. After years of feeling inadequate, the cracked pot finally confessed to the water carrier, ashamed that it had failed in its purpose.

The water carrier smiled and pointed to the path where the cracked pot traveled. “Have you noticed the flowers on your side of the path?” he asked. “I planted seeds there, knowing of your crack, and every day you watered them. Without you, those flowers would never have bloomed.”

So often, we focus on the cracks in our lives.
The weaknesses, flaws, and mistakes we wish we could erase.

We compare ourselves to others who seem “perfect” and wonder if God could really use us.

But God’s power shines most through weakness.

What we see as disqualifying,
He sees as the very thing that brings beauty, blessing, and even life to others.

The truth is, broken vessels STILL carry living water.🙌🏻♥️

Your scars may be someone else’s source of hope. Your mistakes may give you the testimony someone else needs to hear.

Don’t despise the cracks…offer them to God.
In His hands, your brokenness becomes a blessing.

“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV

Where have you seen God bring beauty from your brokenness?

Think about how your weaknesses can be a testimony of God’s strength. Who might God be encouraging through the very cracks you want to hide? There’s so much beauty in the brokenness.
